Default Crashing textures

Hi

I'm writing this post because i have problem with gw. My game randomly(sometimes when i'm playing for 1 minute sometimes after 2 hours) freezes for about 3 secs and all textures crashes like this:
http://img502.imageshack.us/my.php?image=textureon2.jpg

It helps with textures when i minimalize gw and maximalize it again, but GW is really slow after this - locations are loading really slow and maximalizing is very slow. Restarting computer only helps with that (reopening gw = same effect as when crashes).

My configuration:
Intel core duo 2 ghz
GeForce 8600M GT
2 gb ram
WinXp with SP2

By any chance did you overclock your geforce? If so this could be the issue, and lowering values could help.

Whats the type processor your using?
You might need to set your settings to low cause your GPU isnt the best around i suggest a 9800GTX and if you got the Money a 280GTX
And you might need more physical memory aka ram cause if that reaches 100% your game could crash.
OS aint a problem

Sounds like to me either you video card is getting too hot, or it could be going out.

Mine has been doing the samething for a while now, but I know my card is going out (its lasted longer than I thought it would).

Your Laptop might get to hot that causes crashes, i suggest taking out the power package and use the net electricity or buy a cooler

I had something very similar happening recently - it would do that after I had alt-tabbed in/out of the game a few times to read the wiki/check email/whatever. I initially thought it had to do with Firefox's notorious memory leaks, but it started happening after a fresh reboot with no browser loaded at all, and much more frequently. I tried removing/reinstalling vid card drivers, didn't work. Reinstalled XP a few days ago (drastic, but I was damn frustrated, and on the verge of buying a new vid card), and it hasn't happened since. In my case, I'm betting it was either mismatched driver components from a previous upgrade, or simple OS cruft. I'm not saying you should blow out your box, just commenting, as those anomalies looked similar to what I saw.

I have the exact same problem! and sometimes my screen fills with random 'pictures' you find when u search in the .dat file. I didn't overlock and I ran RivaTuner while playing to see if my computer would get too hot when it happened, but it didn't.

I also had this happening once:

But it's usually the same thing as your screen shows, and my FPS also goes down from constant 60 to 1-15. I have to play GW now on a 5year old laptop which is pretty lame since this laptop is all new and should be able to run on max settings.

I did play WoW without any problems, so I don't know why it's happening in GW.
Would be great if someone has a solution.
